Deschamps revamps his executives to challenge the English

The coach of The Blues made no changes to his starting squad for the quarter-final against England.

Special envoy to Doha

No change for Didier Deschamps in his starting team. Unsurprisingly, according to our information, the Blues’ coach has revamped the starting line-up that beat Poland (3-1) in the round of 16 of the World Cup to challenge the English this Saturday evening (8pm). The title holders will evolve in 4-3-3 with the presence of all executives. In the attack phase, they will line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Antoine Griezmann in a more advanced role.

Mbappé scares the hell out of the English

Kylian Mbappé, top scorer at the World Cup with 5 goals and author of a double against the Poles, will be placed on the left side of the French attack. The 23-year-old striker scares the hell out of the English and his duel with Kyle Walker makes everyone’s mouth water. Olivier Giroud, already a three-time goalscorer in Qatar, will be present in the ashes, while Ousmane Dembélé, who we don’t talk about much in this pre-match preparation but who will play a real role, will be in his right lane. For your information: the reigning world champions worked on set pieces this week, but not on penalties…

Tchouaméni and Koundé suspended

In the middle, no change, Aurélien Tchouaméni, suspended in case of a yellow card, will be aligned with Adrien Rabiot. In defense, Théo Hernandez on the left and Jules Koundé, also suspended in the semi-finals if he receives a warning, are expected on the right. Just like Raphaël Varane and Dayot Upamecano in the ashes. Hugo Lloris, captain of the Blues and soon to be the sole holder of the selection record (143 to 142 for Lilian Thuram) will defend the French goal. Kick off this Saturday night at 8pm on the lawn of the magnificent Al-Bayt Stadium.
